WORLDWIDE APOSTOLIC CHURCH IN TRANSITION

Greetings in Jesus’ name,

I believe God has kept you well. Thanks for standing with Worldwide Apostolic Church since our founding in 2008. It has been an interesting journey as God has sustained us through thick and thin. We started out by meeting in Kiswa Primary School and were there for the first 5 years. From there we shifted to a plot belonging to Engineer Vincent Ssewanyana, my father, on Plot 5 Erisa Road, Kiswa. We have been meeting there as a church without paying rent for over 4 years. We were able to roof the existing framed structure that we found in place at that site and also produced interlocking blocks. God has been good to us and we thank Him for that entire period.

Currently the church is in a state of transition in regards to the venue for church services. The land where we used to meet is no longer under the control of Engineer Vincent Ssewanyana, thus the church is on the move and in advanced stages of securing a new location. This has been an abrupt transition since I got to know about the change in ownership on Thursday last week and by Sunday when we had our last service at that location, we had not yet communicated concerning the new church venue to all the members. We concluded our annual Youth on Fire Conference on the same Sunday so the whole week was packed with activity without time to source for a new venue. I was not happy with the short amount of time, only one week, that was given to us to source for a new venue. However I knew that God was in control and a testimony would come out of the test.

Within this week after prayerful consideration I was able to move with some brokers to source for a new location for the church. We finally settled for a vacant piece of land that is adjacent to a murram road about 200m off Port Bell Road opposite Gaz petrol station in Kitintale. There is a washing bay at that junction and the proposed location is to your right as you follow the murram road just after the iron sheets fence. We agreed with the landlord on a rental price of 400,000/= per month and he requested for a 5 months’ deposit before we access the location. I was able to give him 1,200,000/= as an initial deposit, equivalent to 3 months’ rent. There is still a pending balance of 800,000/= due to the landlord.

Relocation for Jesus Christ

Kitintale Relocation and Construction Budget

Aside from the rent, there are a number of initial costs that we are obliged to meet as a church. One of the benefits we have is that the landlord is giving us a secure storage location and access to established toilet facilities. The toilet facilities shall help us in the short run. There is also available access to water and electricity from neighbours at a fee, though in the long run we shall connect our own power and water. However since we are only renting the land, it means that we have to put up a church structure on the land. The advantage we have is that some of the salvaged materials from our old structure like the blocks and iron sheets can still be reused. However some costs cannot be avoided like the leveling of the land with a grader since it has an uneven terrain. Also in the long run we shall have to set up our own toilets with a connection to a neighbouring septic tank. We shall also bear the costs of cementing the already dug septic tank. I was also informed by the landlord that the Local Council officials shall require a considerable development fee during our introductory meeting. We also have costs associated with branding including relocating and reprinting our signpost and setting up banners and signposts at the old location directing visitors to the new location.

I believe that God is at work to supply all our needs during this period. It is also a critical period with deadlines since we are believing God to clear the landlord before the services can start off at the new venue officially. I ask you as a partner in the ministry to stand with us during this crucial period as we undergo change for the better at Worldwide Apostolic Church. Our vision to plant a church branch in Kasokoso also stands and we shall embark on it as soon as we have established a foothold in Kitintale. We are targeting having massive evangelistic crusades and door to door evangelism in both Kitintale and Kasokoso. Our ultimate purpose is to purchase land and construct church headquarters and church branches on our own land. All the materials that we shall purchase for the Kitintale church structure should be viewed as a saving scheme for building materials that will be reused on our own land in the future.

James 1:2-3

(2)  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations (tests & trials);

(3)  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

I believe that this situation we are in as a church is a trial or test that will result in a big testimony. Instead of being downcast we ought to rejoice and take it in stride as we trust Jesus Christ. God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts and He promises that all things work together for good. The enemy may have meant it for evil but I believe God shall be glorified as we stand together in unity shoulder to shoulder to climb up the mountain and build (Haggai 1:8).

God is counting on you in this period of transition for Worldwide Apostolic Church. I believe that as you sow your seed, the same God who owns all the silver and gold in the world will reward you with an abundant harvest (Haggai 2:8).

Yours in Christ,

APOSTLE EDWARD SSEWANYANA
