You will notice that commonly the Bible refers to the word “exousia“, which is a Greek word translated as power, authority, right, jurisdiction and strength. This is a word which describes royal authority or the power of rule or government (the power of him whose will and commands must be submitted to by others and obeyed). It describes the authority possessed by a king and also refers to the crown or the sign of royal authority. Jesus made a statement in Matthew 28:18 that “All power (exousia) is given unto me in heaven and in earth”, the next statement he made was not that, “now I am going to heaven and will continue using this authority whenever and wherever I please”, rather Jesus said, “Go ye therefore!” The word “therefore” was referring to the statement He had made in verse 18, that all authority was given to Him. He implies that we are to go out in this very same authority. When Jesus walked the dusty streets of Palestine casting out devils, forgiving sin and healing sick bodies, the Spirit of God rested on Him without measure and He was able to work the works of God single handedly. However, after 3 years of ministry Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead. When Jesus rose from the dead He “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb 1:3). Why did Jesus sit down? Because now His body is not a limited one-man-army but a vast array of miracle-workers, demon-chasers and tongue-talkers called the Church or the body of Christ. Jesus expects us to go forth and do greater works than He ever did while on earth. “You are Christ’s body–that’s who you are! You must never forget this. Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything” (1Co 12:27 MSG).  We are the Body of Jesus the Anointed one on this earth. The authority He has is the same authority we have. Why do I say this? Because the throne in which Jesus is seated is the same throne where we are seated. “Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and SET HIM AT HIS OWN RIGHT HAND IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And HATH PUT ALL THINGS UNDER HIS FEET” (Eph 1:20-22). Everyone would agree that Jesus has total authority far above every known power. However, God did not limit this authority to Jesus alone; someone else is seated in Jesus’ limitless throne! Who could that be? “And hath raised us up together, and MADE US SIT TOGETHER in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:6). Jesus’ throne is big enough to accomodate each of us, don’t try to go to heaven to measure it. This means that when you command the mountain to be removed, it is like Jesus himself is commanding the mountain to be removed. “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD” (1Jo 4:17), this implies that we are just like Jesus in this world, not only in the world to come. The scriptures clearly call us gods, “I have said, YE ARE GODS; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psa 82:6). Jesus Himself was persecuted because He likened Himself to God and likewise we shall be persecuted when we make it known to the people that we are just like our Daddy, God the Father, “The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, MAKEST THYSELF GOD. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, YE ARE GODS. If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and THE SCRIPTURE CANNOT BE BROKEN” (Joh 10:33-35). Clearly the Bible says that we are gods, and the scriptures cannot be broken. Who are you to break them? Who is that religious Pharisee to break them? No one can break the scriptures, not even God Himself, “for thou (God) hast MAGNIFIED THY WORD above all thy name” (Psa 138:2). We have read that, “as he is, so are we in this world” (1Jn 4:17). We are not simply a shadow of what He was, but the very thing itself. We ought to be imitators of God just like Paul says, “Watch what God does, and THEN YOU DO IT, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents” (Eph 5:1 MSG). This is clear invitation for us to act just like God or to imitate Him.
I know this is a tough nut to crack but we shall crack it anyway. The Body of Christ (the anointed) needs to rise up in glory to establish the kingdom of God on this earth, destroy the works of the devil and set the captives free. This cannot be done when we are just “trying to survive“. This is one of the phrases I least like to hear. You would rather say, “I cannot help but thrive“, because you possess total dominion over all circumstances and rebel rulers (demons) in this world. You are anointed by God, “But you belong. The Holy One ANOINTED YOU, and you all know it” (1Jo 2:20 MSG) the same anointing is now teaching you all you need to know about God and the way His kingdom operates in this earth, “But they’re no match (false teachers) for what is embedded deeply within you–CHRIST’S ANOINTING, NO LESS! You don’t need any of their so-called teaching. Christ’s anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie. Live deeply in what you were taught” (1Jo 2:27 MSG). This is the anointing under which I am writing this epistle and that is the same anointing which is in you. It is not only the men on TV who are anointed. You are anointed also! You are not anointed with a different Spirit from the one with which Jesus was anointed. The very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is dwelling in your body and now you can do the very same deeds Jesus and the Apostles did when they were on earth. The statement you need to cleanse out of your mouth is,”Jesus did that because He was God” and “that’s because he was the Apostle Paul“, get spiritual toothpaste from the scriptures and the largest brush and scrub that out of your system. You can do everything Jesus and the Apostles did on earth and much more.
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” (Rom 8:11 KJV). “It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!”(Rom 8:11 MSG). God does not operate with “bichupuli” (Luganda for counterfeits), He deals with the same genuine Holy Spirit with which Jesus was anointed while on earth and which raised Him from the dead. That same resurrection power and authority has been vested to you. Go out boldly and fulfill your assignment form God. You have the equipment and the command froom our Commander-in-Chief, the Lord Jesus! Go forth in His name and do exploits!
