Apostle Edward Edifire Jesus bible God church preacher holy bible Christ prayer faith Jesus ChristApostle Edward Ssewanyana gave his life to Jesus Christ in 1999 at St. Mary’s College Kisubi in Uganda. He launched out into ministry during his Senior 6 vacation in 2001 under the Invaders fellowship. He was filled with the Holy Spirit in that very year and underwent ministry training under Kampala Pentecostal Church with the Youth Discipleship ministry course “Adventure in the Word” and Evangelism Explosion. During his stay in the Invaders fellowship he experienced a revival where he was introduced to the field of evangelism, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and communion with the Lord. He went for his first evangelistic mission in August 2001 to Eldoret, Kenya with Pastor Mark Kigozi and the Invaders.

When he joined Makerere University in September 2001 he was determined to see it turned upside down for Jesus. During his first two weeks at the University he led 10 first year students of his hall, Livingstone, to Christ. He was so zealous for Christ that together with another brother he went and preached the gospel to the Warden of Livingstone hall and led him to Christ in his office.

He went ahead to start and lead a fellowship in his class, which comprised first year Architecture students and even saw lecturers attending. During his first semester he established a weekly fellowship in the CC tower of CCE hall. During this time in 2002 he accepted a ministry position as a committee member of the Makerere University Christian Union, the largest fellowship at the University with membership of over 2000 students. In 2002 he also planted a Bible study fellowship in CCE main block during the recess term in July that was the genesis of Edifire Ministries.

After his term in the Christian Union he took on the chairmanship of the Afrostone Christian Union that comprises Africa and Livingstone halls. During his 2 year tenure he saw explosive moves of God in the fellowship with manifestations of spiritual gifts and launched the first joint Afrostone mission to Hoima.

During the entire season from 2001-2006 he participated in evangelistic missions with various mission teams that included Caring Mission, Tororo Busia Missioners (TBM), Kabarole Missioners and Edifire Ministries. The international missions spanned Rwanda and Kenyan towns such as Eldoret, Kakamega, Misikhu, Kiminini and Nairobi city. He also preached the gospel in Uganda in Fort Portal, Hoima, Busia, Luweero, Sembabule and Kampala. He organized his first independent Edifire Ministries mission in July 2006 in Nairobi, Kenya.

He founded Edifire Ministries together with Apostle Arinaitwe Moses in July 2002 and the ministry has continued to grow and expand till today. He has continued as the chairman of the ministry and has a capable team of ministers who are running the ministry affairs. He frequently ministers in the ministry headquarters in Kampala and where the Lord has continued to open doors.

In June 2008 he planted Worldwide Apostolic Church in Kiswa Primary School in Kiswa/Bugolobi. The church has continued to grow and impact the entire Nakawa, Kiswa and Bugolobi communities. He ministers at the church and is the Apostle and General Overseer.

Apostle Edward is also a graduate Architect and continues to do architectural consultancy privately. He was employed in an architectural firm shortly after completing his degree. He continues to boldly press ahead as he obeys the Lord’s plan for his life and ministry.

God has called him in the offices of Apostle and Teacher and he continues to teach the body of Christ and start new works in His Kingdom. Apostle Edward is also a writer and has written a book entitled “The Baptism of the Holy Spirit” and various articles. He ministers with a powerful grasp of the scriptures and operates in the spiritual gifts especially prophecy and razor-sharp word of knowledge. He also has a powerful ministry of imparting the baptism of the Holy Spirit and has seen multitudes receive the gift and speaking in tongues. The hand of the Lord is upon him as he continues to make disciples, raise up leaders and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth.
